Sunday, November 27, at 11:00 a.m. - First Sunday of Advent
The new church year begins and we start to prepare for Christmas. Worshipers are invited to stay after the
service and join in making Advent Wreaths. Candles, rings, greens will be available, and Advent Devotions
will be on hand to take home and use daily.
Sunday, December 4 at 11:00 a.m. - Second Sunday of Advent: Annual Voters Meeting
The Liturgy remembers the coming of John the Baptist. Following the Liturgy the congregation has its annual
voters meeting, where it will elect new Congregational Council members and adopt a financial budget for the
coming year. Members are reminded that this marks the beginning of Stewardship Season. Pledge Sunday will
follow on Dec. 18.. At that time members’ commitments will be received at the Offering in the Liturgy.
Friday, December 16 - Christmas Caroling on the Church Steps
Come and join in the fun! Put on a Charles Dickens cape or top hat and join in
serenading the passing visitors to Restaurant Row with the carols of the
Christmas season. Afterward the party continues upstairs in the parsonage.

Tuesday, December 20, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Christmas Dinner in the Soup Kitchen
We need and welcome volunteers who would like to join in making this wonderful Christmas meal
possible for our many guests. It’s a great holiday tradition. Come and help us serve this special meal in
our Soup Kitchen. Serving begins at 1:00 p.m. and continues until all have eaten.

Sunday, January 8, 11:00 am The Epiphany of our Lord
We celebrate the visit of the wise men with a festival service in which the wise men actually take part.
Then everyone gathers upstairs for the Epiphany Potluck. The date has been transferred so that
everyone who has returned from the Christmas holiday will be able to participate!

This is the last of the Christmas festivals as we prepare to enter “ordinary time.” A reminder of how
Jesus’ Baptism marked the beginning of his ministry, and a call to us to remember our own Baptisms
and the call to service.
